About Us

Jena Hennessey

Jena Hennessey grew up in Suquamish on Agate Pass, giddy with the joy of movement.  Her interest in moving led to the study of ballet, brains, jazz, education, modern improvisational dance, healing,  flamenco, performance,  kung-fu, Brain Dance, and how to love being in her body, with the aim of being present. She has taught creative dance and self healing movement classes for over ten years.

Jena is a Certified Nia/5-stages instructor, Certified Breema practitioner, Reiki master, licensed massage therapist, and educator in Seattle. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Washington, an M.S. in Biology from the University of Oregon, and a Masters of Education from Antioch University in Seattle.

Jena has practiced the Nia Technique since 1998 and can hardly wait to get giddy with the Joy of Movement with you!

Eron Hennessey

I’ve been moving (and learning about movement) since before my birth, but have always enjoyed movement arts and expression as far back as I can remember. As a child, I studied ballet, learned folk-dances, and later, practiced martial arts, which I began teaching in 1992 at the Seattle Kung-fu Club in the International District. I have also studied Breema and Nia, and join Jena for her Nia classes whenever I can.

Drawing upon my experience in martial arts, including Hung Gar, Wah Lum Pai, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Aikijutsu, and non-traditional martial arts, I have developed a new class called Kinesthesis Martial Movement, an accessible yet effective form of martial arts, which I teach at the Civetta Dance Space in Seattle.
