Journey within to celebrate the seeds of possibility!

Winter is a time in which nature itself seems to draw inward and build its strength before the explosion of activity in spring.  For many, it is a time of introspection, of gathering with those who are important to you, and of dreaming the possibilities that a new year holds. We will be celebrating this most auspicious of seasons, and exploring the expression that is born from journeying within in a winter-time experience of sound, dance, music and creativity.

This year we will be joined by Jude and Paul Ponton of Whispering Dragon, who will be providing us with a harmonic soundscape with an array of gongs: deeply resonant and beautiful. We will also be joined by Roman Delgado (ReikiDragon.com), who will be guiding participants on a Reiki drumming journey, and then we’ll engage in creativity through movement, sound and art.  This is truly an experience like no other!

This season’s WinterDance will be held at the Civetta Dance Space on January 6th, 2012, from 7:30-9:00 pm. The cost is $15. The number of participants is limited; please save your space by contacting us early.

Welcoming Wholeness: Dancing Through the Holidays with Nia

On Sunday, December 18th, from 2-4pm at the Civetta Dance Space, Jennifer Earle, Susan Tate & Jena Hennessey will be holding a special Nia 5-stages, Classic Nia, and Nia Freedance event: Welcoming Wholeness: Dancing Through the Holidays With Nia.

The intent? “to support you in cultivating wholeness in your body, mind, heart and spirit as we enter the holiday season and New Year”.  It should also be a lot of fun!

End of Times: The Final Music, Movement & Magic of 2011 Occurs Tonight

At the end of things, there is a new beginning–but there will never be another moment like this one.

So it is said, and in such a way, the final Music, Movement & Magic experience of the year begins tonight at the Dance Space @ 7:30pm and runs to 9pm!

As a way of rounding out our experience, I’ll refer back to the original description of this event:

Be supported to explore, with movement and music, the magic that is awakened when we integrate Five-stages work, Freedance, and the chance to dance and experience a story arc that mirrors the cycles of the Mayan spiritual calendar, the Tzolk’in (but also reflects universal cycles of creation, transformation, and growth, so is not constrained by any particular calendar or practice).

We will begin in circle. Then, enter into exploration of creative cycles using imagery, art, dance, and sound. The experience will be guided, yet you are encouraged to move as you are moved to move. I will offer pearls of thought throughout the event. We will end as we began, in circle.

All are welcome and preregistration is requested as space is limited to 13 participants. Join us and support your creativity, dancing through life!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no Martial Movement class this Thursday, November 24th.  I hope that you all have a wonderful time with family and friends!

However, there are plenty of opportunities to work out post-feast! Our classes will resume Friday with Jena’s Nia class at 9:30am, and then again at 6pm.  Sunday’s Nia class at 9:30am will also be held, as will Martial Movement at 6:30pm.

New Martial Movement Class Begins!

Kinesthesis Martial Movement has expanded to twice per week:

  • Thursdays, from 7:30-9:00pm
  • Sundays, from 6:00-8:30pm

FallDance 2011 on September 23rd!

It’s that time again! We’re continuing the tradition of seasonal ritual dance experiences with a celebration of the onset of Autumn.

Joining us will be a trio of Dragons–Jude and Paul Ponton of Whispering Dragon, and Roman Delgado of ReikiDragon!  Jude and Paul will be creating a harmonic soundscape of eight gongs attuned to planetary frequencies, specially chosen for this seasonal transition, and Roman will be leading a Reiki drumming journey to guide participants in gathering personal strength and support as we move toward the Winter months.

We’ll follow these remarkable experiences with an opportunity to reflect, dance, create art, write, snack or meditate.

The event will be held on Friday, September 23, from 7:30-9pm at the Civetta Dance Space in Seattle: 124 N. 103rd Street, Seattle, WA 98133 [map].
